Eating Healthy 101

The number of diet programs and crash diets that are currently popular online and in magazines will blow your mind, and you may find that trying to follow some of these diets will actually do more harm than good for your body. Eating healthy is more than just dieting, but it is something that you actually need to integrate into your life until it becomes your way of life. Eating healthy can help you to eliminate serious diseases, fight viruses, and have a healthy life. There are four macronutrients that you need to eat:1. Protein is the building block of muscle, but red meat is often high in fat. The best protein that you can find will be in legumes, and legumes contain more protein than meat or chicken. However, you will find that chicken, eggs, turkey, fish, and other lean proteins are often more enjoyable than a bowl of baked beans, so don't hesitate to switch up between the lean proteins you eat.2. Fat is an essential nutrient for your body, particularly the fat found in avocadoes, fish, and nuts. Keeping your fat consumption low is essential for overall health, as too much fat in your diet will do your body more harm than good.3. Carbohydrates are the nutrients that your body converts into energy, and you will find that eating a lot of carbohydrates will be essential for excellent health. However, focus on eating the complex carbs like whole grains, oats, and vegetables rather than the empty calories of simple carbs like white bread, white rice, and noodles.4. Liquids are essential for keeping your body healthy, as liquids help to restore the balance in your body by replenishing fluid lost through sweat and urine. Make sure to drink a lot of water if you want to remain healthy, and avoid sugary or carbonated drinks that will do more harm than good.Macronutrients are the main nutrients that your body needs, and these four macronutrients will be essential to being in good health. However, there are micronutrients that you also need to eat, specifically the vitamins and minerals that are found in healthy food li ke Omega-3 and iron in fish, potassium in bananas, Vitamin A in carrots, and Vitamin C in citrus fruits. All of these micronutrients will be incredibly important to help you stay healthy, and you should eat these as much as possible. If you are not getting enough of these micronutrients from the food you eat, you may want to consider a multi-vitamin or supplement to help you provide your body with all of the nutrients it needs. A lack of these nutrients will cause a number of disorders, which is why it is essential to provide as much as your body needs.
