Day 756 - Lemon infused steam,spiced chicken breast with fresh roasted garlic

Hello my friends, So today I was out and about with my wife and we stopped for a quick bite at this Chinese food restaurant. Chinese is definitely one of my weaknesses however now that I am wiser and more dedicated to my health, I know I would have to make some sacrifices. All those weight loss plans on TV claim you can eat just as if you were not on a diet but that's not the case. The portions are very small and in many cases they are loaded with sodium. When we got to the restaurant and placed our order, I ordered steamed chicken and broccoli with no sauce but I did ask them to bring it on the side. When the dish arrived to my amazement they gave me a full cup of sauce on the side. When I asked them what type of sauce they brought me, they said it was their teriyaki glaze. Well needless to say I passed on the sauce and used a few dashes of soy sauce to flavor my chicken however when I got home I looked up the nutritional facts. As I suspected the sauce was terrible with 1510 milligrams of sodium (Recommended sodium intake for an entire day is 1500 mg) and 35 grams of sugar. Now I am no nutritionist however I know that is BAD. Once we were done eating I was inspired to make my own steamed chicken! So I went to the store bought some chicken breast and 10 heads of garlic. When I got home I decided to steam the chicken and prepare roasted garlic as a way to add flavor without excess calories. Overall it came out pretty good and I am now prepared to eat well this week ...
